We’re opening with a bang again: After LESBIAN SPACE PRINCESS last year, we’re continuing our little tradition – the second edition of Filmfest Aachen kicks off with queer animation from France. In JIM QUEEN, a mysterious epidemic sweeps through Paris’s gay community, suddenly turning gay men straight. Among those affected is gym queen and influencer Jim Parfait, who risks losing his status in the community along with his sexuality. When the only person who sticks by him is the twink Lucien (of all people!), the two set out in search of a cure. Their journey takes them through Paris’s queer subcultures – a tour of their different scenes, codes, hierarchies and body ideals. And as Jim and Lucien begin to question their own prejudices, the way they see each other starts to shift as well … The film premiered as a Midnight Screening at Cannes 2026.
